# Noemic

Make your own wager. Discover what is true.

Noemic is an open direct wagering network. Anyone can join, discover an
opposing view, and invite or accept a wager. Each wager is formed by identified
people under exact terms; it is not filled from an anonymous pool, prediction
market exchange, order book, or secondary trading venue.

## Three layers

### Trustworthy website

The website owns accounts, durable identities, wagers and their term history,
source connections, permission controls, resolution records, product
explanation, and connector installation. Sensitive and durable human review
belongs on this inspectable surface; beta approvals are agreements in
principle rather than claims of legal enforceability.

### Ambient AI connector

The connector is designed to propose relevant wagers, recommend member-approved
open wagers and useful questions, and help compile exact terms from a
conversation. A member can explicitly ask it to research possible people, but
person-first browsing is not the default wagering path.

Ambient access is ordinary MCP. A host may invoke a read-only relevance tool
automatically when its policies and the user's settings allow it. Each access
is still an explicit tool call containing only the context the host is
permitted to send. Noemic does not receive a background feed, secretly scan
every chat, or read a host application's private memory. Writes, outreach,
source connections, and disclosure changes require explicit user intent or
approval. The connector cannot create financial exposure. Financial execution
remains outside the approved beta boundary.

### High-fidelity personal data

Literal posts, comments, articles, transcripts, and other authorized sources
are canonical. Preserve provenance, timestamps, context, collection method,
permission state, and passage-level links. Markdown, summaries, profiles,
claims, and matching signals are derived views, not source truth. Current
controls operate at the source, record, and matching level; per-inference
review is the next control surface.

Public writing can support a specific fair invitation. Ongoing recommendations
use only sources the member separately adds or connects, within explicit,
revocable connection and record scopes. Signing in with X can connect the
member's own posts under the scope shown at sign-up; a recommendation is
built from the whole corpus and names the themes it matched, not one post.

## Founder-led network seed

Morgan begins with approximately 100 public writers and a genuine,
source-grounded wager for each:

1. preserve the literal claim and provenance;
2. draft a fair, measurable opposing position;
3. personally DM the writer with a scoped invitation;
4. convert responders into durable members;
5. invite them to connect the writings they want Noemic to use;
6. use corpus and behavioral data to propose a useful second wager;
7. begin matching members with one another.

Before responding, a writer is a prospective invitee, not a shadow member. An
open wager is a member-approved public invitation. Anyone can read and share it;
signed-in members can volunteer for the other side, and the creator chooses
whom to invite into exact bilateral approval. It is not a publicly traded
ticker or order book.

## Current MCP tools

The local beta exposes six tools.

### explain_noemic

Return the stable public explanation of the network, source provenance, human
approval, resolution, and money boundaries.

### begin_sign_in

Create a secure browser handoff. Passwords and private credentials stay in
noemic.app and never enter the conversation.

### finish_sign_in

Complete a browser-approved handoff and return a scoped session. Handoff
secrets and session tokens stay inside tool calls.

### propose_wager

Fill in every field of a wager, exactly as a member would on the New wager
form, and save it as a private draft. The result links to that completed form,
where the member publishes in one click. A source may be linked only by an
existing source record; never invent provenance.

### find_relevant_wagers

Rank member-approved open offers for the signed-in user. A host may call this
read-only tool at a genuinely wager-shaped moment. Weak ambient results are
suppressed and must not interrupt the conversation.

### find_counterparties

On an explicit person-search request, rank active members for a concrete
proposition and return only scope-authorized, source-cited evidence explaining
the match. This is a secondary research tool, not the default wagering flow.

propose_wager does not send a DM, publish a market, bind a counterparty, accept
terms, or move money. Morgan sends founder invitations manually.

## Agents, contracts, and money

Agents may extract, research, draft, critique, propose, search, rank, and
match. Every human or legal entity reviews the exact terms. Neither an agent
nor Noemic is an implicit counterparty. A displayed stake is hypothetical
terms text; drafting, publishing, matching, and approval do not charge or
escrow it.

Noemic compiles outcomes, horizon, authoritative sources, void and
manipulation rules, payoff table, dispute path, and the selected resolution
adapter. Resolution infrastructure itself is pluggable.

Quarantined Settlement data remains in the additive schema for migration
safety, but it is not an available product surface: its module is not exported
and stale entry points fail closed. Resolution cannot name a debtor, open an
obligation, report payment, or create a Payment-ledger entry. The beta records
only agreements in principle and evidence-backed outcome audits.

Real-money execution, custody, escrow, payouts, fees, and compliance remain a
separate gate pending exact legal and operational approval. Never present
cash wagering, charity-payment enforcement, or settlement as available.
