Privacy policy

The short version: literal sources stay canonical, their scope is explicit, and public wager records never make the rest of your account public.

Data we collect

We collect account details such as verified email, username, sessions, and security events; wager drafts, interests, invitations, exact terms, approvals, declines, counters, evidence, disputes, and outcomes; and reports, blocks, and support messages.

When you connect or add a source, we may store the exact text or provider payload, provenance, URL, timestamps, context, authorization basis, and disclosure scope. We may derive positions or relevance signals while preserving links back to the literal source.

If you sign in with X, we store the account id, handle, and profile name of each X account you link, and the access tokens X issues to Noemic for each of them. The tokens are stored encrypted and used only to read what you authorized: your posts and replies, and, if you connect them, your likes, bookmarks, follows, and home timeline. Likes, bookmarks, follows, and home-timeline posts are used only to recommend wagers to you and are never shown to anyone else.

How we use data

We use data to operate accounts, compile and display wagers, recommend relevant open wagers or useful questions, preserve exact approvals, resolve outcomes, prevent abuse, send account and action notices, improve reliability, and meet legal obligations.

Noemic does not receive a hidden background feed of your AI conversations. An AI host must make an explicit tool call with the context and permission allowed by that host and your Noemic session.

What becomes public

Public open wagers may show the creator’s name, proposition, sides, resolution terms, permitted evidence, and charity pledge wording. Public agreed records may additionally show both parties, exact approved terms, status, evidence, and outcome.

Drafts, negotiations, declines, reports, blocks, connected accounts, private source material, email addresses, payment information, and sign-in data are not made public. A public record uses only the source excerpt or source details permitted for that record.

If you sign in with X, only your primary X account’s profile link may appear with your username on your public wagers. The linked accounts themselves and their tokens are never public, and posts from any linked account are used only within the scope you chose when connecting them.

Source control

Connecting a source is the permission for Noemic to use material from that source within the scope shown at connection time. You can disconnect a source or revoke a record from Sources & privacy. Revoked material stops contributing to future recommendations and disclosure.

We may retain a restricted immutable snapshot when it is part of an approved agreement, safety investigation, dispute, or legal obligation. Derived views can be hidden, corrected, replaced, or deleted without rewriting the literal historical record.

Providers and transfers

We use service providers for hosting, databases, email delivery, error monitoring, and security. They receive only what is needed to provide their service under appropriate contractual and technical controls. We do not sell member source corpora or use private sources to build advertising profiles.

Retention and security

We retain active account and product records while needed to operate Noemic. Session and sign-in credentials expire or can be revoked. We use hashed session tokens, one-time email links, encrypted provider tokens, access controls, rate limits, and audit records, but no online system can promise perfect security. Disconnecting an X account or closing your account revokes the tokens X issued for it.

Your controls

You can download your data or close your account from Account. Closing ends access, withdraws open wagers and unfinished negotiations, revokes source use, and removes your active identity from discovery. It is not a complete deletion request.

Shared approved terms may retain names and displayed excerpts. Restricted source, provenance, resolution, dispute, safety, and legal audit records may also remain where needed to preserve shared history, prevent abuse, resolve claims, or meet legal obligations.

You can request deletion through Support. You can also revoke AI sessions, block members, report content, correct context, or ask about access and correction.

Contact and changes

Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@noemic.app. We will post material policy changes here and will not use them to silently broaden an existing source permission or approved wager.
