Terms of use

Noemic helps identified people write, negotiate, publish, and resolve direct wagers. The current service records nonfinancial agreements in principle and factual outcomes.

Noemic is not a bookmaker, exchange, escrow provider, payment processor, charity, resolver of every dispute, or counterparty to your agreement.

Noemic does not accept, hold, transfer, pay out, guarantee, collect, or enforce money. If terms carry a charity stake, that is the participants’ agreement in principle that the loser will give the stated amount to a charity the winner names once the result is final. The gift is made directly on the charity’s own donation page at Every.org, which is the charity of record and issues any receipt. Noemic provides the link, records what each participant reports, and may record a confirmation from Every.org; it never receives, holds, or forwards the money, does not promise that the gift will happen, and makes no statement about tax treatment. No participant may receive anything of value from a wager.

Whether a charity stake is offered to you depends on where you live, which you tell Noemic on your account page. Where it is not offered, a wager may still be recorded without a stake.

Do not use Noemic to arrange a cash prize, side payment, pooled stake, audience wager, securities trade, or other prohibited financial transaction.

You must be at least 18, able to understand the terms you approve, and legally permitted to use the service where you are. Keep sign-in links and sessions secure. You are responsible for actions taken through your verified account.

Use your own identity. Do not impersonate someone, create deceptive duplicates, or claim authority over another person’s account or source.

Nothing is agreed until both people approve the same exact version. Interest in an open wager is nonbinding, and the creator chooses the prospective counterparty. Either party may decline; pending negotiations are not public records.

Open wagers are shareable. An agreed wager marked public may show both names, positions, exact terms, permitted source excerpts, status, evidence, and outcome. Review these details before approving.

Only submit or connect material that you are authorized to use. Preserve context and do not selectively quote in a misleading way. The scope chosen when a source is connected controls whether Noemic may use it for relevant recommendations or disclosure.

You can revoke a source. Revocation stops future recommendation and disclosure use, but immutable audit snapshots may be retained where needed to preserve an agreement, resolve a dispute, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.

Do not use Noemic for harassment, threats, doxxing, fraud, illegal activity, manipulated evidence, spam, intimate or highly sensitive facts, accusations of crime without a safe and authoritative basis, or outcomes involving death, injury, or personal harm. Do not target minors.

Comments under a wager and direct messages to another member follow the same rules as everything else on Noemic — no harassment, impersonation, or spam — and may be hidden or rate-limited.

We may limit invitations, hide content, suspend accounts, void records, or preserve evidence when needed for safety, integrity, or law. Members can block and report one another.

The creator sets the title, subtitle, side, and resolve date. Noemic writes the evidence hierarchy, decision rule, and void rules, the same for every wager, and acts as resolver. Both parties approve those exact terms before a record forms. Noemic may record a provisional or final outcome and a dispute. Records are informational, and Noemic does not guarantee legal enforceability.

The beta service is provided as available. AI assistance and source extraction can be wrong; people must review every material term and excerpt. To the extent allowed by law, Noemic is not liable for a participant’s conduct, an external source, a missed donation, or decisions made from a wager or resolution record.

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes apply prospectively and never silently change an already approved wager. Questions can be sent through Support.
